GIULIETTA - 950,000 SEK

On February 8th, the Swedish Riva agent NK Kristensson sent a recently signed purchase contract to the Riva shipyard at Lago d'Iseo. The contract was an order for a new Riva Super Florida and the customer was the Stockholm director Helge Pehrsson.

Ever since NK Kristensson received the agency for the prestigious boat brand Riva, they had already sold a number of boats. A fact that created attention down in Italy, so much so that Carlo Riva himself came to visit NK Kristensson's stand at the boat show in 1962.

Helge Pehrsson had inherited his interest in boats from his father Eric. He had already been one of the first generation of racing drivers in the late 1920s with his two successful racing boats named Argbiggan.

The ordered boat, which was given number 543 in Riva's log, was delivered by truck directly from the shipyard in the summer of 1961. On board the truck was one of the shipyard's delivery technicians, who made sure to get the Riva ready for use.

The premiere launch took place via the Lidingö shipyard slipway in early June 1961, when Helge himself was also present and received a thorough review of the boat's features and a thorough review of the 177 horsepower Chrysler Sea-V that sat under the hood amidships.

The order also included a large number of the shipyard's options. These included a convertible top, horn, searchlight and water ski pole to offer a pleasant summer boating experience in every way.

After a few years with the new Riva Super Floridan, Helge chose to move on in the Riva segment. The Floridan was exchanged for a new Riva Ariston at NK Kristensson, and what happened to the boat afterwards is still shrouded in mystery.

In 1995, the current owner had started looking for a Riva to renovate. A long-term search began that one day came to fruition. Out on a plot of land on Värmdö outside Stockholm, there was supposed to be a Riva for sale. The boat was visited and sure enough, it was a mahogany racer lying there, but it wasn't a Riva.

But the rumor wasn't entirely wrong. On the boat (which turned out to be a Forslund boat) was a window that very well came from a Riva. And in a box of accessories, there was also a nose fitting that had also been taken from a Riva.

The Forslundaren was nevertheless purchased while waiting for the right boat to appear, which turned out to be the case two years later.

The boat that now appeared turned out to be a real Riva. A Super Florida in a miserable condition that was now to be sold. The boat was far from complete and was worn out with a frozen engine in it. It was a deal this time too, and when the boat was taken home and inventoried, it turned out that the window and nose fitting, which came with the Forslundaren, had originally been on the Riva.

After a 20-year renovation, this unique Swedish-sold Riva is now in excellent condition. No effort has been spared to make her the gem she truly is.
