DARLING II - 145,000 SEK

On Christmas Eve 1919, siblings Bror and Olga Abrahamsson received the sister boats Darling I and Darling II (joint name Vi Tu) as a gift from their father, merchant AR Abrahamsson, Stockholm. In the late 1920s, Darling II suffered an engine failure. The engine was removed, spare parts were procured, but the renovation of the engine was never completed. The boat was instead placed in a small boathouse on the shore at the family's summer residence on Strholmen just outside the inner city of Stockholm.

 

Here she lay until the spring and winter of 1977, when Ingvar Hammar “found” her and after months of touring took over the boat from Bror Abrahamsson’s nieces. The boat then received a respectful overhaul (not a renovation because it wasn’t needed), the “new” engine parts were installed in the engine and in 1982 the boat was finished.

 

In 1987 the boat was sold to Leif Lundin, Värmdö, from whom Hans Værnéus bought her in May 1988. Many original parts still remain, such as the gift certificate from 1919, the skipper's cap, tenders, cushions, the club pennant as well as spare parts, cast models and original drawings for the engine. The boat was shown at Allt för Sjön in 1983 and 1996.

 

Now this unique boat is for sale for those who want to become the owner of one of Sweden's best preserved classics at a price that corresponds to a completely ordinary Buster. Quite simply, a bargain.
