Gar Wood was one of America's foremost builders of runabouts during the happy 1920s and 30s. Well-built and with lines and fittings that seduced both boat speculators and friends and acquaintances.

However, only eleven boats arrived in Sweden during these years, through the two agencies that came and went.

 

Bon-Bon, which is one of the unusual boats that was built after World War II, before the factory finally closed in 1948. The boat has lived much of its life in a freshwater lake in California before finding its way to Sweden in the mid-2010s.

 

Today this wonderful little utility is a perfect summer toy for sunny summer days at your dock in a lake or in the inner archipelago. The boat is still largely in its original appearance with even the wonderful side-valve six from Chrysler still on the engine beds.

 

To further make the boat light and comfortable to use, the hull is epoxy treated with a protective fabric up to the railing.
